Projects

I tinker with things and incubate projects in service of causes I believe in. Most of these exist to test a hypothesis — about ageing, health, how we connect with people, or how we read the world.

BridgeGoodx

In progress

Toolkit to scale BridgeGood's "Design for Social Good" philosophy

A desktop app anchored on BridgeGood's core philosophy for students, local chapter leads, mentors and alumni. It provides reflective practices, earning components and mentorship with job placements with host companies.

What I learned: People adopt frameworks, not brands. The Stanford/IDEO Design Thinking toolkits spread because anyone could pick them up and use them. We want the same for Design for Social Good, as a mindset rather than a BRIDGEGOOD dependency. We also don’t want a static, brochure-style PDF, so the toolkit needs to guide people through doing the work.

MicroMatch

Working prototype

Micro-jobs matching, designed with seniors in mind

A mobile app (React Native + Supabase) that matches people to flexible micro-jobs by skills and availability slots. Built to test a hypothesis I care about: that well-designed flexible work can keep seniors engaged, earning and connected.

What I learned: Matching is the easy part; generalisability of job-seeker intent and work-live pattern is the design constraint. It is important to define properly which archetypes benefit.

Discourse

Prototype

A game for conversations that matter

A game I built to help people have deep conversations around big questions — the kind you would find in a General Paper exam, but with friends instead of an examiner. Because most of us are out of practice at disagreeing well.

TCM Chatbot

Prototype

Heritage medicine meets modern AI

An AI companion for Traditional Chinese Medicine — constitution analysis and everyday guidance, built to explore how heritage systems of health knowledge can be made accessible.

What I learned: Additional user context could make the app more useful.

Career Planner

Working prototype

Career strategy, applied to self

A web app for reflecting on your career the way a strategist would — mapping strengths and goals on radar charts, and planning your next chapter with an AI thinking partner rather than a job-titles checklist.

What I learned: Planners need to keep up with how careers are evolving. This tool adapts for non-linear and portfolio careers.

Deep Research News Reporter

Personal tool

A patient reader in an impatient news cycle

An automated agent that runs deep research across sources and produces a considered news digest — built for weeks when there is no time to read everything, but no excuse to read nothing.

What I learned: Having a highly customised news aggregator saves me not just time, but attention.
